Who is behind Trickslake?

Trickslake started as a reaction to something most people know: you search for a simple answer and get instead pages full of filler. We wanted to do better.

The content consists of step-by-step instructions, explanations of what is otherwise difficult, and concrete tips you can use today. All written in plain English and without assuming you know anything beforehand.

Our conviction is that you can be thorough without being long-winded. When we write, we ask ourselves: could we use this ourselves? If not, it goes.

Our principles

Upkeep. Old articles get a review – they are not just left standing.

Curiosity. The best articles start with an honest question.

Thoroughness. We do our homework before we write – and link to what we build on.

The reader we have in mind is you, who want to understand before you act. No prior knowledge required – we make sure you can follow. If you already know the subject, hopefully you will still find something new.

Before we write, we look at the subject from several angles, and try things out ourselves when we can. After that it gets written – and let it rest for a day before editing.

Got a question, a correction or an idea? You can reach us on the contact page – we answer all of it, just not always instantly.
